Owner-occupiers have been driving the commercial property market, according to the latest Commercial Property Demand Index from Rangewell. The research found steady investor appetite in Q2, but it was the high level of owner-occupied commercial mortgage activity that kept the market moving.

UK inflation surges to 3.6% in June
UK inflation rose unexpectedly in June, climbing to 3.6% and marking the steepest monthly increase in over a year, according to the latest figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Fixed rate expiries fuel buy-to-let refinancing surge
Landlord research carried out by mortgage market specialist Pegasus Insight shows a major wave of refinancing among buy-to-let landlords, driven by the end of fixed-term deals and shifting portfolio strategies. Of those refinancing, over two-thirds stayed with their existing lender; one in three remortgaged and one in three took a product transfer.
